Receptionist - General Responsibilities include:

  • Greet clients and patients.
  • Weigh patients.
  • Answer phones.
  • Take samples back to the lab.
  • Schedule appointments & surgeries.
  • Field questions & messages for doctors and nurses.
  • Check clients in & out.
  • Go over client invoices.
  • Dispense medications & food.
  • Cleaning

Technician - Responsibilities include:

  • Proper animal restraint (dogs, cats, lizards, pocket pets, birds).
  • Obtain blood samples via jugular vein, cephalic vein & lateral saphenous vein.
  • Perform fecal tests, urinalysis, ear cytologies and blood smears.
  • Perform diagnostic x-rays (radiographs).
  • Perform in-house chemistries and CBC’s.
  • Administration of medications (Sub Q, IV, PO and IM).
  • Place IV catheters.
  • Administer fluid therapy.
  • Assisting doctors with performing dental prophylaxis and surgeries.
  • Administration of anesthetic drugs and gases.
  • Prepping patients for surgery.
  • Monitoring patients during surgery and post-op.
  • Recovery of patients after surgery.
  • Maintain medical records.
  • Invoicing of services.
  • Perform nail trims, ear cleanings, light grooming and anal gland expression.
  • Clean cages and litter pans.
  • Feeding and walking hospitalized patients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the hospital.
  • Client education.

Kennel Staff - General Responsibilities inlcude:

  • Walking and exercising pets throughout the day
  • Cleaning: Clean and disinfect runs, cages, bowls, countertops, floors and windows; Wipe down doors; Sweep sidewalks; Clean exhaust and ceiling fans; Disinfecting pet exercise area
  • Feeding maintenance and specialty diets
  • Giving medication: By mouth, in ears, on skin/wounds/incisions, and by injection (insulin)
  • Laundry, laundry, laundry!
  • Bathing (including nail trims and ear cleanings)
  • Puppy Playtime – one on one interactive sessions with staff members that include playing ball/frisbee and other games, splashing around in the pool, or sometimes just cuddling up for a little extra TLC and a good long belly rub
  • Dishes
  • Take care of the animals as if they were your own.
